Mental Health Charity Mind

Mental Health Charity Mind

At Mind we know that life, just like football, has its ups and downs. And as a fellow Leeds Utd fan I know that we’ve had our fair share of ups and downs! Ups and downs are a normal part of life but, for people experiencing mental health problems, getting the right support when they need it can be a matter of life and death.

1 in 4 of us experience a mental health problem each year. But only 1 in 8 adults who experience a mental health problem in England and Wales are receiving support. We also know that men are less likely than women to talk about their mental health or seek support, they are three times more likely to die by suicide, which is the biggest killer of men under the age of fifty.

That’s where Mind comes in, and unstoppable fundraisers like Tony who power our work forward. We won’t give up until anyone with a mental health problem gets support and respect. Whether that’s anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression or anything else, we deliver life changing support through our helpline, and online resources as well as working to support a network of local services across the country and campaigning nationally to improve services and push for justice.

Its why Mind has been using the power and language of football to reach men, and why I urge you to support gamechangers like Tony by taking part in the Bielsa Raffle. Not only can you be in with a change of winning ‘God’ in bronze, you can also help raise important funds for Mind to be able to continue to provide life changing support and advice for anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
